
Established on March 18, 1998 by Coral World International, the Maui Ocean Center is an aquarium and marine science center situated in Maalaea, Hawaii on the island of Maui. This is a huge aquarium, covering a land area of about three acres, boasting more than 60 exhibits and hundreds of sea creatures belonging to the Hawaiian Islands only.
This is a must visit tourist attraction of Maui Island offering something for everyone. Hence, it is the most popular weekend getaway for all. There are different sections in the aquarium including - Surge Zone – This is an interactive display that simulate the crashing waves and show how the young fish scramble for cover Next to it is the Living Reef, where you’ll find colorful coral reefs and typical reef creatures, and watch them feed off the intricate architecture. Living Reef – this a very interesting place where, you can get to see colorful coral reefs and typical reef creatures. Maui Aquarium – It is the most famous attractions of the center, featuring a wide array of sea creatures in a magnificent larger-than-life aquarium.
Apart from these, the other sections that you will surly enjoy exploring in Maui Ocean Center are - the Tide Pool, the Marine Mammal Discovery Center, Hawaiians and the Sea and the Open Ocean.
Timing: It remains open throughout the year from 6 am to 5 pm and From July to August till 6 pm.
